Our story
Fiber optics is not new — and neither is our crew
As excitement about fiber optic cable in residential and business applications keeps growing, it is easy to forget this is not an entirely new development in communication technology. Fiber has been in use about as long as the internet, but it was used primarily to connect countries rather than communities. The first transatlantic cable was installed in 1988 to link the United States with Britain and France; there are now hundreds along the ocean floors of the world.
We mention that because we sometimes get disbelieving looks when we say our team brings more than 50 years of combined field experience with fiber optic cable installation. It took time for fiber to reach residential properties, but it has been used in commercial settings for a very long time — especially by businesses that wanted to future-proof their operations. Because these cables resist electrical interference, they are an exceptional choice wherever reliability is critical.
As communities push for fiber so residents can enjoy optimal internet speeds, the ones that make the investment often see population growth, because families now weigh connectivity when they relocate. Many states are taking advantage of federal grants to bring dependable internet access to their communities, and we are proud to be part of that build-out.
Along the way we grew from small in-state projects into a company with long-standing employees, state-of-the-art equipment and completed work in 17 states — able to handle underground utility installation, aerial placement, fiber optic splicing and repair as a single accountable contractor.

Our team
Long-standing employees, serious equipment
Our team of 24 dedicated technicians and specialists — with 50+ years of combined field experience — is committed to your complete satisfaction, the same crews job after job.
Timely completion
We enjoy completing projects on time and meeting deadlines — it is the reason clients hand us the next phase without rebidding it.
Quality workmanship
Low-loss fusion splices, correct sag and clearance, proper compaction. The details that never show up in a photo are the ones we obsess over.
Licensed and accountable
We hold a General Contractors License for public utilities communication work and carry the insurance program large builds require.
Any size job
A single damaged drop on a homeowner's property or hundreds of route miles for a carrier — both get a real crew and a real schedule.
Safety & qualifications
Safety and qualifications
Work zones are planned and staffed by credentialed people, and the traffic control that protects them is ours — not a subcontractor's schedule.
Field supervisors OSHA 30 trained
Every field supervisor has completed OSHA 30 training, so hazard recognition and daily job briefings come from the person running the crew.
All crew leads hold Intermediate traffic-control credentials
Crew leads carry Intermediate traffic-control cards, so lane closures and work-zone setups are led by credentialed personnel.
In-house traffic control
We maintain our own traffic-control capability instead of waiting on a third party, which keeps work zones compliant and schedules intact.
VDOT approved
Expert Telecom is approved by the Virginia Department of Transportation for work within its rights-of-way.
Let's talk about your build
Send us the scope, route miles and schedule. We will get an estimator on it and respond with a plan, not a placeholder.
